Your Claims Process

The following step by step description details our claims that most claimants will follow. As with anything, there are always exceptions to the rule, but this brief guide should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Get in touch

The victim calls us or completes one of our online forms and one of our legal advisers discusses the details of their case and advises them on whether to progress with a claim.

Solicitor consultation

They are then contacted by one of our specialist solicitors who is up to speed on the victims claim and on the outcome of this all the paperwork required to submit the claim is processed.

Claim process

The lawyer gathers evidence on the claim and discusses with the victim what the likely amount of compensation payable will be. Between them they agree an amount that they will settle for.
In some cases the solicitor will make what is known as a Part 36 offer to the defendant, which is an offer to settle out of court for a pre agreed amount. If this is refused then the case will go to court.
The solicitor represents his client in court to fight for the compensation. In the majority of cases the victim needn’t attend court, but if you do you will be fully briefed by your legal team.
